Kilt Pin

Now that I know Mr O has reached his destination and all is well I can post a photo on here - this is my first ever attempt at Kilt pins - what I had in my head is not what ended up happening - in part mostly due to the size of Mr O - he was much bigger than my pin so had to get a bigger pin and it sort of went from there  -

I didn't measure overall size before I posted him but he is lying on the top of my laptop to provide him with a white background! Along with Mr O there are 2 unicorns, 2 sets of padlocks and keys, an assortment of black beads and an antique bronze kilt pin, chain and jump rings.

Autumn is here!

Hello - it looks like the autumn has started early this year! Its getting dark so early in the day now - and I have been doing a few bits and pieces - so here goes -
A lovely butterfly card - its ever so simple to do and is very effective - it uses washi tape and I've been looking for a use for some of my washi tape.

This is a gift card holder - I love the big bow - that's using a Sizzix bow die and its easy to do and really pretty!
This is my page for this month's Chinese Whisper journal - the picture is of our Tessa doing her meerkat impression! LOL.
This card was made using a SU stamp - in white ink and then painted over with SU coloured inks .
A mermaid card and below a birthday card I made using some toppers and doilies I've had for ages - I am trying to use up some bits and pieces.

end of August stuff

Well the nights are drawing in and its getting dark so early now - I don't like the dark evenings - still its time to start planning a few Christmas cards - or they will be shop bought ones this year LOL.

I've done a couple of things since I last updated my blog, the first one and my favourite this month is a decorated notebook. This was made for a swap and the lady I was sending to virtually gave me carte blanche to do as I pleased. So I did and using some of my gorgeous Graphic 45 papers I went to town.
This first photo shows the front of the book after I had finished with it - ignore the mess on my table behind it LOL! The original book was a bright cerise affair and by the time it was finished not a hint of pink in sight!

This photo shows the inside of the front cover which I lined with Bazzil and then using an off cut from the Graphic 45 papers I made a pocket to hold some little postcard type things. To the right of the picture you can almost see the ribbon and chipboard page marker I put in the book.

And finally this is the back cover of the book - I covered the inside of this cover with Bazzil same as the front, but there are no pockets this time. I enjoyed doing the book - was so pleased with the end result and the lady I sent it to was over the moon with it as well - calling it elegant:)

This is an art journal layout done for August - the theme was the truth about Mondays - I was pleased with how this page turned out and I love the background colours!

And finally for this post - its a wall hanging and my swappee wanted something that showed before she scrapped she used to sew - which I thought was an easy theme - but not so sure now - I hope she likes it!

A few more bits to look at!

Hello again and I'm back - I've not really had time to much as we've had visitors but I've still managed to dabble ..............
The first is another canvas and easel on F1 theme - the first never reached its destination - this one went out in the post this morning and I am keeping everything crossed that it arrives this time LOL

This is my pride and joy at the moment - its an altered mirror - started at my friend Sue's and I wasn't too sure about it at all as I had gone with a fairly neutral tone and then stuck some bright green paint on and I do mean bright LOL. Then it sat on my mantle piece and I thought go for it so I did - it came out a lot better than I anticipated  and nearly got pinched by a certain young lady! The lace came from a lace swap I took part in ages ago - and I love it - just need Bill to put it up on the wall now!!

I am sorry about the quality of this photo but I had to share it with you, Tessa loves to send her ping pong balls under this cupboard and recently discovered she could get under there as well LOL

A great grandmother again!

Well here we are in August already - this year is flying past - or is that a sign of my old age LOL. Well I am entitled to feel old my grand daughter Leonie has just confirmed that she is expecting a daughter on the 18th December - she already has a son Cordell and yes all this really does make me feel old!

OK enough nattering and onto some of the bits I've been doing since being on here last:

I joined a canvas and easel swap and the theme I was given was Formula 1 - totally outside my comfort zone - but I have done the best I could with a subject I know nothing about!

This is my entry into an Art Journal I am doing - the theme was a bucket list and at the top of mine was to regain my slim figure - as I said in the journal - not much chance of that but I can dream!

This was a postcard I made for a mail art swap - for Cynthia - who like me loves Steampunk, so this was easy to do  - the hardest bit was to stop adding to it!

I saw this card and thought  - now that would make a lovely Christmas card and it has!

Another nice and easy card - love the stamps on this one!

My July page for Chinese Whispers - love this photo of Tessa she looks like she is smiling  and she does love bling.

Not sure this picture does this card justice - it's a lovely little card and as it's one layer it will save on postage LOL. Well that's my lot for a now - must point out that these projects were done over a period of time as it takes me ages to achieve anything these days - thanks for looking!

Tessa being a tart

Finally to end today's post is a picture taken this morning of our cat Tessa showing off her tummy LOL!

Some July crafting

Here we are again and its another month but what a warm one it is turning out to be! Its lovely being able to have the windows open and the heating off! I've managed to do a little crafting this month - when my health allows and as normal I've not been blogging regularly so I've a few to show you - so here they are in no particular order:
Big flower card - using a doily and a big flower stamp - I love the colour orange and this looks so fresh and summery!
This postcard was made using the masking tape technique for the background and then the penny farthing was stamped on top.
The pink bird card - very simple but again nice fresh colours and they all complement each other.
This is a gorgeous male card - we all have trouble doing them - the background was created by putting ink onto an acrylic block and spraying it with water - then stamping it onto card - you get a different effect each time you use it.
Another male card involving clocks - and if you know me you know I love anything to do with clocks - a simple card to do and I love the effect on this one.
Finally my yellow card - the colours are all bright and fresh with this one - a pretty card for the summer.

Tessa

Tessa posed nicely for this photo taken on Friday - she is getting used to the camera now - which is just as well as we have taken loads of photos!

June - Mail Art

A piece of mail art - I love the telephone box on this card - hopefully it should reach its destination soon!

Some more cards

Some cards I've made -
The top one is using a painting technique as well as a resist technique.
The next one is using markers on an acrylic block, misting them with water and stamping it onto a piece of card and then using a solid stamp, stamping over the multi coloured background - so easy to do and yet effective.
And finally the bottom one is for my grandson - I am pleased with how it turned out so I hope he likes it.

Some more bits for June

What a wet month - where has our summer been and gone - I seem to have had a few crafting spurts this month - mixed in with some bad nights and painful days - but its nice when I can craft - so here goes with a few things from June:

This is for a postcard swap - it has to have a stamped image somewhere on the card and the theme this month was hats!

Some of you will know that we lost our gorgeous Scottie in April - these 2 pages are the first I have been able to scrap of her - both show photos taken at various ages, Her name was Boos!

This is a layout I've done for June for an Art Journal - I enjoyed doing this layout as I got very inky!

One for Jane

This one is for you Jane - it's a card I made for Bill - using a stamp and template from Clevercuts and of course a TH sentiment stamp - love this template shape and really pleased with the card! :)

More cards for May

Here are a couple more cards I've done this month - the first 3 were made at a Stamping Up class - mine aren't very straight - I can't do straight - but I love these stamps - very suitable for all sots of cards!

This card was made for a friend's grandchild and used up bits and pieces - I loved the colours on it and again the stamping isn't straight! LOL

May Cards

These are the May cards for a swap on UKS - the theme this month was anything to do with dance, some ribbon and colours of the rainbow. They are all the same image but with slight differences - they took me a while to do but I hope they're ok!

Some April craftiness

Been catching up on some scrapping projects for a friends album, only a couple more to do and it is finished.

Another one for the album - this started as a white page and I used it for the Chinese Whisper CJ on UKS.

Another album page - this was the first time I had used my melt pot to create the heart embellishment. the hearts on the paper and bird and flower centres have been accentuated using diamond glaze.

Another page for the album - this paper is lush and an unusual colours choice for me, but I was really pleased with the result.

A postcard I made for a swap at UK stampers, the theme for this month was  yellow and circles - the postcard looks really yellow in real life.
